Recycling and Composting
It’s important to know when to recycle and when to compost. There are many items that can either be recycled or put in for composting, but it is crucial to know the difference and to keep items separate. We have provided a list on our site of practically every day-to-day item one uses and how they should be best “disposed of” for the health of the environment and the health of us. Slowly, as one begins to make the environment a priority, knowing what to do with everything will become second nature. But in the beginning of this process, it is worthwhile checking back on the site regularly to become familiar with how it works.
Composting at home can be very easy. And it’s so good for the environment. Ultimately it puts everything back to its origins – the soil – and feeds micro-organisms, insects and worms. And it’s so easy to do. So much can be composted, such as kitchen scraps, yard materials and grass clippings (in the “green section”); dry leaves, shredded egg cartons, bread and pasta (in the “brown section”) and more. The process works with both the greens and the browns, being put in different layers. See website for more specific details.
